New York City: Day 1!🍎

“Jumped in the cab here I am for the first time…” -Miley Cyrus

I am in New York!!! It’s been a crazy day! Here’s a timeline of my first day in NYC.

6:00AM: Wake up not very happy at first because why am I awake at 6AM on a summer day? But then, my mood changes when I realize today we are going to NYC!

7:00AM: Arrive at DFW international airport✈️

7:30AM: Buy chicken minis from Chick-Fil-A and my typical caramel frap from Starbucks. Food and frap in hand= happy Kaylee

8:30AM: Board flight and realize the flight has TV’s with lots of free movies!! (Shoutout to American Airlines). I ended up watching Passengers and 9/10 would recommend.

9:00AM: Take off from DFW! New York here we come!

1:30PM: Arrive at New York-Laguardia Airport!

1:50PM: Get in an interesting looking taxi that reminded me of a small school bus. Side note: New York drivers are insane. Lots of honking.

2:55PM: Arrive at our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, in Times Square to drop off our luggage.

2:57PM: Begin frantically sprinting to Rockefeller Plaza in order to make it in time to see The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

3:09PM: Arrive at Rockefeller Plaza with 6 minutes to spare!!

5:00PM: Sit in a live taping of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon! What an amazing experience.

Turn on notifications for @FallonTix account
Be ready to request the tickets the moment they go on sale
Warning: Tickets sell out unbelievably fast so be prepared!! Tickets for June sold out within 5 minutes so be quick.
The tickets for an entire month will go the month before and they will announce the ticket relase date on the twitter page

If you are able to get tickets: Congrats! You did it!🎉 The show was incredible and Jimmy was very nice! I even got to touch him!!!

6:30PM: Go to NBC gift shop and find souvenirs from all my favorite tv shows including The Office and FRIENDS!!!!

6:45PM: Dinner at Harry’s Italian Pizza Parlor inside Rockefeller Plaza. Very yummy!

9:00PM: Walking around through the city as I spot one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen with my own eyes. My jaw literally dropped and my hand went to my mouth when I saw this church. What a sight to see. I think the fact that this gorgeous, ancient church was smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city was what struck me. Amazing.

9:30PM: Dessert at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. In honor of seeing Jimmy Fallon (and because it is an amazing flavor) I got “The Tonight Dough” flavor which is a mix of chocolate, caramel, brownie, and cookie dough (all my favorite sweets combined into one #score)!

10:00PM: Taking the elevator up 70 floors to the Top of the Rock at Rockerfellar Plaza. What an incredible view!!! Definitely worth the money!

11:30PM: Attempt to find ourselves on TV as we watch The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon as it airs on NBC.

1:30AM: Time for bed after a long, but great first day in the Big Apple.
